What shall be the investment required to set up a OneRoof franchise?
The investment would depend on the combination of products and services that the franchisee wishes to offer in their location. Based on the choices made, the investment could vary between Rs.3.50 to Rs.4.00 Lakhs, which will include the one-time franchise fee, cost of computer equipments, peripherals, accessories, furniture, training and all set-up costs.

When shall the business achieve breakeven?
Going by the OneRoof experience, it can be as early as by the third month, but will vary depending upon the size of the centre, mix of products and services offered, local market opportunities, and particulars of the financing arrangement a franchisee might have.

What kind of support can the franchisee get from OneRoof?
The franchisee will be given support through OneRoof’s field resources in the following areas:

Can I add a OneRoof franchise to my existing business as an expansion?
OneRoof franchises must have their own space and individual identity – and thus a OneRoof franchise need be set up as a standalone entity.

Who can apply?
We seek men and women with business experience, who are comfortable with computers and technology, who can provide start-up capital or sufficient collateral for a loan, and who are genuinely motivated to serve their hometowns and its surrounding villages. Those with a drive to work for the betterment of rural areas and who strongly feel that they can improve the lives of many people living in the villages through the OneRoof opportunity are encouraged to apply.

Will OneRoof provide financial support ?
Investment capital has to be brought in by the applicant. The company does not provide financing.

What kinds of products and services can I sell through the franchise?
All franchisees will be expected to offer a list of core products and services that include ICT, Computer Education, and Digital Photography. The franchisee would also be given a list of additional products and services such as VoIP for international phone calls, rail/bus/airline travel online ticketing, and mobile phone recharge, from which the franchisee can choose to sell through their centres based on their knowledge of the local market and how much they want to invest.

What kinds of training will I be given prior to the setting up of the franchise?
A selected franchisee will be given training in computers and internet, special software that is used to operate the franchised centre on a day to day basis and comprehensive entrepreneurial skills and business development training. All training will be conducted at OneRoof’s training facilities in Chennai. The training will be for the Franchisee, the Centre-In-Charge (a person who would be hired to manage the centre on a day to day basis) and an Operator who would assist the Franchisee and/or Centre-In-Charge in the daily activities of the centre. The duration of training will be for 5 to 15 days and will vary for the franchisee, the Centre-In-Charge and the Operator. Franchisees will also spend a few days in the existing OneRoof Centres and undergo hands-on training in the operations of the OneRoof Centre.

What kinds of training will I be given after setting up the franchise?
To ensure that you succeed in your franchise business after the initial training, OneRoof staff will continue to provide long term support and follow-up to the franchisees in areas of technology, marketing and promotion, business development, new products and services, etc. You will also be expected to attend regular meetings (monthly to quarterly) at the branch office to discuss your progress and challenges in your franchise business. Staff from the OneRoof Branch Offices will regularly visit you to assist you in your business development efforts.

Where is OneRoof currently working?
OneRoof is currently working in two districts of Tamil Nadu. OneRoof is currently expanding its franchise network in the districts of Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur in Tamil Nadu. In 2008 OneRoof will expand to other districts in Tamil Nadu and to Andhra Pradesh.
